Q1 2021 Outrun

Our first outrun of 2021 is now available. We have settled into our new bottling hall and are excited to get back to it after the Christmas break.

First up is a very special release, a 23 year old Bowmore. We were very excited to receive this cask into the warehouse. Islay’s oldest distillery and home to the famous Vaults warehouse, this medium peated malt has been matured in a refill sherry cask enhancing the already very fruity character of this make. The tasting revealed rose water, heather honey and dark chocolate & sea salt. The cask yield was 137 bottles.

We’re big fans of ex bourbon cask matured whisky here at Lady of the Glen, and this Glen moray is a shining example. Situated on the banks of the river Lossie, just outside Elgin. Famous for its light fruity spirit, this ex-Bourbon barrel has added layers of vanilla, coconut and chocolate notes. 214 bottles were bottled.

Bunnahabhain 2010 Ex-oloroso Sherry HHD #901213

This sherry cask matured Bunnahabhain is an easy dram to love and is sure to be popular. Islay’s most northerly distillery typically produces an un-peated style, unusual for the region. This ‘Gentle Dram’ has been matured exclusively in a first fill ex-oloroso cask, amplifying the fruit & nut character. The tasting revealed Antique furniture, Figs & Walnuts and allspice and toffee. There are 350 bottles for release.

Whisky connoisseurs know that mature single grain whiskies have a lot to offer. This 20 year old Port Dundas has all the hallmarks of a well aged grain whisky. Built at the highest point in Glasgow on the banks of the Forth & Clyde Canal, closed in 2010 then demolished a year later. A light and sweet distillate, the barrel has added body and depth to the spirit. LINKWOOD 2011 HHD EX-MARSALA BARRIQUE FINISH #301083

Completing our line up for the first part of the year is a dram we’re very proud of. This 10 year old Linkwood has been re racked into a Sicilian Marsala cask hand picked by Gregor. We are glad to say it has been a resounding success. A medium bodied, sweet and floral distillate matured in a Hogshead for 8 years. Re-racked in early 2019 into an Ex-Marsala barrique from Vino Marsala in Sicily offering influences of apricot and vanilla. The cask yield was 265 bottles which were bottled at cask strength without chill filtering. The tasting revealed Sandalwood, Apricot and blackcurrant and chocolate salted caramel. The final yield was 265 bottles.
