Strathmill is one of three distilleries within the Moray town of Keith at the heart of Malt Whisky Country. Originally built as a corn mill in 1823, it was converted into a distillery in 1891 during the Victorian whisky boom. W.A. Gilbey & Son acquired the building in 1895 and gave it the name Strathmill – probably because parts of the old mill remained intact. Today Strathmill is known for producing a medium-bodied, sweet spirit.
This Speyside single malt was distilled on the 7th of December 2007 and bottled on the 23rd of July 2019 at cask strength.
Matured in bourbon cask #807834, this 11 year old was then finished in an ex-tawny port cask, hand-selected from Tanoaria Josafer, Portugal.
This cask yielded 288 bottles and is a rare Speyside single malt whisky.
On the palate, expect crème caramel, ginger and walnut flavours.
