Glencairn glasses are an excellent accompaniment to any Whisky tasting because their bell shape allows for complex Whisky aromas to be trapped in the glass making them ideal for nosing and sipping. They also have the added benefit that if the glass tips over all of the spirit doesn't splash out!

DISTILLED 4th July 2012 AND BOTTLED 13th July 2026

A firm favourite amongst the team at Lady of the Glen, Glen Elgin never fails to deliver. This idiosyncratic single malt known for its fruity and complex character lends itself well to secondary cask maturation. In this case we have a 6 year finish a a fine ex-tawny port barrique from Josafer near the city of Porto. 

Highly complex and characterful, the nose really delivers the fruit as expected on the label, especially dark cherries, cranberries and chocolate covered nuts. The initial palate is full but soft too with moreish Turkish delight, walnuts, baked apple and a subtle meaty note of parma ham. A long finish offers lively spices, blueberries and honeyed oak.
