Bowmore 2017 - Fionn Slays The Kranna Dubh

DISTILLED 28th March 2017 AND BOTTLED 29th July 2026

Islay’s oldest working distillery and an icon of the famous 'Whisky Isle'. Although not as peaty some of its counterparts, this distillery punches well above its weight on the smoky scale and also punching well above on the age scale too as for only 9 years old, this spirit is well matured beyond its years. 9 full years in a first fill bourbon barrel has seen to this adding character and complexity. 

Lush and sweet on the initial nose before a wave of sea salt, lemon, sea spray and salinity transport us straight to Islay. The palate opens with a warm comforting blanket of milk chocolate toffee, tobacco and lightly smoked ham before citrus peels and gingerbread develop in the background. The finish is long, lingering and very moreish with dark chocolate cherries and buttered malt loaf.
